- 04We specialize in working with: ● Youth athletes returning to play after injury ● Active adults who want to stay active, fit, and pain-free ● Post-surgical patients who want to safely regain strength and mobility ● Weekend warriors and fitness enthusiasts looking to prevent future injuries ● Motivated individuals who value personalized care and prioritize results If your goal is to stay active, perform at your best, or recover fully from an injury, we can create a personalized plan just for you.
- 05Your first session is both an evaluation and the start of your treatment. We’ll begin with a comprehensive conversation about your history, symptoms, and goals (subjective exam), followed by a movement analysis, special testing, range of motion, and strength assessment (objective exam) to identify the root cause of your condition. From there, we will: ● Explain our findings and discuss the underlying issue in clear terms ● Provide hands-on treatment to address pain, mobility, or movement limitations ● Develop a personalized recovery plan tailored to your needs and activity level ● Give you a customized home program so you can start making progress right away By the end of your first visit, you’ll have a clear understanding of your condition, a structured plan of care, and actionable steps to begin your recovery.
- 06All evaluation and treatment sessions at R3 Physical Therapy are scheduled for 60 minutes of dedicated, one-on-one care with your therapist. In some cases, your therapist may recommend additional exercises or recovery work outside of the session, which can extend your overall rehab time beyond the 60 minutes. This helps you utilize specialized equipment and technology available in the clinic that you don’t have at home, ensuring you get the most effective care during your appointment.
- 07In California, you have Direct Access, which means you can begin physical therapy without a doctor’s referral. A referral is only necessary if: ● Your insurance company requires it for reimbursement For post-surgical patients, we encourage you to bring surgical reports, post-operative protocols, or referrals to help us provide the best care. If needed, we can also coordinate directly with your surgeon to obtain any missing information. Otherwise, you can book your evaluation and start your recovery immediately.
- 08Every patient’s recovery is unique, and the frequency and duration of your plan of care will be recommended based on your initial evaluation findings and goals. We discuss these recommendations thoroughly with you—and your family when appropriate—so you understand the process and what to expect. Most patients notice progress within the first few visits. Your personalized plan depends on factors such as: ● The type and severity of your injury ● Your personal goals and activity level ● How you respond to treatment Our goal is to help you recover efficiently, prevent re-injury, and return to the activities you love.
- 09Yes! Many patients continue with performance-based and injury-prevention programs after rehab to: ● Improve strength, mobility, and control ● Enhance athletic performance ● Reduce the risk of future injuries A proper injury prevention program can help youth athletes stay on the field longer, perform better, and reduce time lost to injury. At R3, we highly recommend incorporating these programs as part of long-term health and success. This focus on prevention is a key way we differentiate ourselves from traditional clinics, especially since most healthcare systems do not cover preventative interventions. Our customized programs keep you strong, resilient, and thriving well beyond your initial recovery.
