Dr. Christy Thompson is the founder of R3 Physical Therapy, a concierge, cash-based physical therapy practice committed to providing individualized, evidence-based care for athletes of all levels. With dual board certification in Sports and Orthopedic Physical Therapy, Dr. Thompson brings over a decade of clinical expertise to each session, helping patients optimize performance, recover from injury, and restore long-term function.
She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California (USC) in 2014 and completed her undergraduate studies in Kinesiology with a minor in Psychology at Texas Christian University (TCU), where she was a four-year NCAA Division I athlete and All-American in indoor volleyball.
Following her doctorate, Dr. Thompson completed a rigorous Sports Residency at Texas Health Resources Sports Medicine. Her commitment to advancing the profession has included publishing peer-reviewed research in Physical Therapy in Sport and presenting at national conferences such as the APTA Combined Sections Meeting.
Her clinical experience includes working with a wide range of athletes, from youth and high school competitors to elite professionals and Olympians. She has provided care for athletes in the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, NCAA Division I programs, USA Indoor Volleyball, FIVB/AVP Beach Volleyball, and professional surfing circuits.
R3 Physical Therapy was founded to fill the gap in traditional models of care—offering patients a higher standard of service through one-on-one sessions, performance-focused treatment, and a personalized plan tailored to the individual’s goals. Whether guiding a post-operative recovery or enhancing athletic performance, Dr. Thompson's mission is to help every patient Repair, Restore, and Recover with precision and purpose.
